What is Accelerated Resolution Therapy?

ART is a structured, evidence-based therapy that helps reduce the distress tied to traumatic memories, often within a small number of sessions. You don't have to describe the memory in detail for it to help. Here it is delivered by our clinical director, Hannah Bingler, who is trained in ART, as part of your wider plan.

What's the difference between PTSD and complex trauma?

PTSD often follows a single event, such as an accident or an assault. Complex trauma comes from repeated or prolonged experiences, often in childhood or a close relationship, and tends to affect emotions, self-worth and relationships as well. The two need different plans, so the pre-assessment works out which fits you.

Do you treat veterans? Is Tricare accepted?

Yes. We welcome veterans, and we accept Tricare West. Admissions will run your benefits check before anything is booked. Veterans join the same groups and plan as everyone else, with ART, psychiatry and weekly Track 9 check-ins, and family members can take part in family support and education too.

Can medication help with PTSD?

For some people it helps, usually alongside therapy rather than instead of it. Our psychiatric team evaluates your symptoms and coordinates with any prescriber you already see. You keep your existing prescriptions, and nothing changes without a conversation. If you'd rather not take medication, that is a choice you can make with your prescriber.

Is IOP the right level of care for trauma?

It suits people who are safe at home but need more than weekly therapy. As a trauma IOP near Denver, it gives you about ten hours a week across three mornings and one individual session. If you need support around the clock, we'll tell you honestly and help you find the right place.

What level of trauma care do I actually need?
How do you know if trauma treatment is working?

Every week you complete Track 9, a short check-in, so you and your clinician look at the same score over time. When the scores move, you can see it. When they don't, the plan changes rather than waiting and hoping. You don't need a PTSD diagnosis to start, just a free pre-assessment.

Is trauma treatment covered by insurance?

We accept Colorado Access, Cigna, Anthem, BCBS PPO, UnitedHealthcare, Optum, Tricare West and Kaiser Medicaid. Medicare isn't one of the plans we can accept; if that's your coverage, admissions can talk through other options with you.

Start your insurance check
What if I also use alcohol or drugs to cope?

We treat mental health and substance use together when mental health is leading, and you can say what you use without being judged for it. If substance use becomes the main concern, care continues at Red Rock Recovery Center, and we help make that connection so you are not starting again alone.
